STACEY HOLT - CEO Sole director, educator and advisor

Stacey Holt began the company Real Estate Excellence Academy Pty Ltd January 4, 2010 to continue and expand on an extensive and successful real estate career which included many years in corporate roles that she loved and enjoyed. She decided to do things differently and whilst remaining professional, wanted to create more personal services for the industry to assist people and agencies. One of the many favourite quotes of Stacey is "I no longer sit in your chair; I sit beside you and support you now". 

The focus of Real Estate Excellence Academy is on best practice, compliance and risk management services for the Real Estate industry. The focus and passion is how can we make your job easier, and how can we make your business more successful. Compliance and risk management are core focuses of all businesses in any industry, and that is how we assist you, your business including best practice and time management.

Stacey has been a speaker at many Queensland and National conferences such as the Property Investor National Conference, REIQ property management conference, Meth Lab Conference, LJ Hooker National Conference, PPM National Conference and First National Conferences. Stacey is the only educator and training for all of Real Estate Excellence training events.

Stacey has written and presented hundreds (if not thousands) of real estate training programs in Queensland. Many programs have also been written and delivered throughout Australia on best practice and agency risk management. The many programs that have been written and presented by Stacey have all had the main streams and focus required for today’s real estate professional; best practice, efficiency, compliance, and risk management.

Stacey is the creator and author of the Property Management Excellence (PME) system,  plus, the creator and speaker of the Property Management Excellence (PME) podcast series.

Prior to the launch of her own business, Stacey had 10 years in agency practice in regional Queensland, followed by a further six years in a corporate roles (REIQ) as best practice and policy manager. Stacey managed 300 properties for a number of years with the assistance of Melissa Goody (more information about Melissa below who is the Membership Services manager for Real Estate Excellence), and then progressed to Office Manager, winning the Ray White Office Manager of the Year Queensland award in 2000/2001. Stacey’s role included administering the trust account for the business with some 650 managements, managing over 10 staff, and managing new business for the company. The role also included being responsible for best practice, compliance, risk management and training of all staff in the Property Management Department.

In 2002 Stacey was offered a Property Management Corporate Role with Ray White Queensland based in Brisbane. This role involved working closely with Property Managers and Business Owners on Property Management Best Practice and Systems. The role also included supporting Property Managers and business owners with day-to-day practices and compliance.

In 2004, Stacey joined the Real Estate Institute of Queensland as an industry trainer. In 2005 the role changed to Best Practice and Compliance Advisor. The role involved authoring and editing the entire Institute’s training materials, training Real Estate Agents, Salespeople and Property Managers throughout Queensland, consulting with Government on required legislative changes affecting the industry and working closely with the Industry’s main Professional Indemnity Insurer and lawyers to the scheme.

In 2007 Stacey was promoted to Best Practice and Policy Manager of the Institute. This role involved great responsibility in relation to compliance, best practice, risk management and policy for all the Institute’s materials. Stacey consulted with government on a range of issues that greatly affect the Real Estate Industry including the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act (RTRA Act) that commenced in 2009. Stacey continued her policy background and advocacy during the 2018 and 2019 RTRA Act review. 

MELISSA GOODY - Membership services and events manager

Born and bred in Rockhampton, Melissa started her career in Property Management in 1999, not long after leaving school as a Trainee assistant under the professional guidance and training of Stacey Holt at Ray White Rockhampton. Stacey and Melissa together managed more than 300 properties.

In her first year of practice. Melissa completed her Certificate IV in property services with the REIQ. After 5 years with Ray White Rockhampton, the sale of their rent roll saw Melissa change direction where an even bigger opportunity arose.

Melissa passion for the industry, legislation, and the people she works with and for have seen her work through the arrival of both her children thriving on the challenges and rewards that Property Management and family can both provide.

Deciding to take a step back from such a rewarding career wasn’t a decision Melissa made lightly. Now with a young family and having reached all the goals she had set out to achieve within the industry, a timely opportunity to join Real Estate Excellence Academy was the perfect transition into the next phase of her career. Melissa joined Real Estate Excellence in August 2015.
